Have A Child Graduating From College? 2 Tips To Choose Flowers For Them
If you have a child that is graduating from college you know how hard they had to work to get to this point. Because of this, you should do everything you can to reward them. One way to do this is by giving them presents. Consider also giving your child flowers along with their presents. You could give the flowers first, such as handing them flowers right after they graduate at the ceremony. No matter what you choose, below are two tips to help you choose the best flowers for them.
Type of Arrangement
The first thing to consider is the type of arrangement you want for the flowers. You could choose a flower bouquet which will make it easy to give to your child at the graduation. For this option, wrap the bouquet in beautiful cellophane. If you purchase the flowers from a flower shop, they will do this for you. Just make sure the cellophane matches the flowers.
If you are giving your child the flowers after graduation, such as at a party, a flower basket is a nice option. This is beneficial because along with flowers you can also include other things in the basket, such as candy, powdered teas, and much more. Have the flower basket painted in your child's school colors or leave it the natural color. You could also select a wicker basket or a wooden type basket.
Types of Flowers
Once you decide on how you want the flowers arranged you need to choose the flowers. Some common flowers used for graduations include:
- Daisies: These flowers are bright and cheerful in bright yellow colors. You can also find daisies in other colors such as orange or red. Mix the colors together if you cannot decide on one color that you like.
- Lilies: Lilies are tall and regal and come in white or purple. They are beautiful to add to a flower arrangement along with other flowers
- Roses: If you choose roses the standard red rose will work well as this is a great way to say you love your child. However, there are other colors of roses to consider, such as lavender, pink, or white.
If your graduate has a favorite flower, make sure you include this in their graduation flower arrangement.
Talk to the florist you hire, and they can give you many more tips. If you live far away from your child, you could hire a florist in their area to deliver flowers to them on their important day.
